Mogalla S.A.T was funded in 2001 in Cartaya (Huelva) in order to canalise the sale of the production obtained through their fields and farms, based on the principle: “sell what we produce and know what we sell”.
When the activity began with Montealegre farm in Benacazon (Sevilla), followed by La
Mogayuela farm (1999) in Cartaya (Huelva), both dedicated to citric production, which was quite
significant with 500 hectares of field, became necessary fund the society Mogalla in
order to meet the need of satisfying the commercial growth as farmers.
Later, were integrated our farms Peñalobar (2000) in Don Benito (Badajoz), Monte das
Pereiras (2001) in Beja (Portugal), Valhondo (2002) in Badajoz, El Cedeño (2005) in
Badajoz, El Judío (2008) in Gibraleón (Huelva) and Azanaque (2010) in Lora del Río and
Carmona (Sevilla). All of these farms contain in total 4,000 irrigated hectares which,
under an integrated strategy, have contributed the diversification of Mogalla S.A.T.’
activity, besides creating positive synergies. Therefore, our company could diversify
the production without stopping the production of citruses, towards other kind of
fruits such as persimmon, pomegranate, apricot, flat peach, almonds, as well as
towards vegetables crops such as garlic, broccoli, cauliflower, romanesco broccoli,
peppers, zucchini, aubergine, tomato, melon, watermelon, artichoke, pea, bean,
potatoes, fennel, coriander, spinach, sweet corn, etc.
At the same time –and outside the scope of crops of fruit and vegetable- the seed
multiplication activity (corn, sorghum, sunflower) becomes particular important, as
well as, the cereal crops such as corn and wheat, and thoroughbred “limousin” breeding
beef cattle on an extensive field with eight hundred mother cows, completing its
exploitation baiting calves.
For the transformation of our products and it subsequent sale in the national
and international market, we have two storehouse: one of them in La Mogayuela farm in
Cartaya (Huelva) and the other one in El Cedeño farm in Badajoz. Furthermore, for the
livestock feed, we have two feedlots in Monte das Pereiras farm in Beja (Portugal).
